I had E take a video of me riding Brig.
The Good:
My hands are pretty quiet and they seem to be in the correct position most of the time. I may have piano fingers here and there.
No flopping elbows.
Looks to me like my shoulders are back, chest is out, chin is up. Pretty good head position, [...]

I did go to the barn on Friday night, but I didn’t ride. Instead, I lunged Brig with the Vienna reins. I gave him a pretty good workout: Warm-up trotting each way, ten minutes trotting to the left, walk for two minutes, canter for ten minutes, walk for two minutes, trot for five, then did [...]

Yesterday was another day in which I didn’t feel I could drive to the barn without falling asleep at the wheel. So, I neglected poor Brig again and went straight home. I was in bed by 7:45. Sleep came easily, but when J came to bed (flopped into bed) I woke up and because it [...]

My gas tank is creeping to empty and I’m trying to only fill it once per week. So, I didn’t go to the barn. It would have been a great night to ride, though, it was nice and cool outside. On the other hand, I was really tired and went to bed at 8:15. I [...]

I left work at 4:30 but I still didn’t get to the barn until 5:45. Have I mentioned before how much I am not going to miss that drive? I had to add his U-Gard to his supplements first, then started getting him ready to ride. The wash rack was flooded so I tied him [...]

I have two rules for coming off of a horse. 1. As long as you are physically able and out of danger, you must get back on. 2. Ice cream for everyone!
I didn’t get to see Brig on Friday night. I could have but I was exhausted and driving was a challenge. When I got [...]

We had another good ride last night and all without incident!
I left work early (again) so I could ride and get home at a decent hour. I briefly considered trying the indoor arena again as it was not soaked. I worry about the underlying slick spots so I changed my mind and used the rock-hard outdoor, [...]

J was feeling a little neglected, so I went home and made him a nice steak dinner before going to the barn.
I arrived at the barn, around 8:00. The barn manager and a boarder were just closing up for the night. Brig saw me and was all nickers and excitement. I can’t decide if he really [...]

Yesterday was a big disappointment.
I wasn’t in the mood to work, I really wanted to ride. I spent a lot of time online and basically screwing around, daydreaming about horses and showing and all that stuff. I left the office at 4:30 PM with big plans to head to the barn, water the indoor arena [...]
